LA MIRADA – So how much will it cost to swim in the city’s new, $29 million Aquatics Center. And what days and times will it be open later this year? Those are some of the questions La Mirada residents can have answered tonight when the City Council reviews the operating hours, prices and programs for the new swim complex, set to open in October just behind City Hall and the La Mirada Resource Center. The massive, 18-acre center will be one of the largest and most elaborate municipal swim complexes in Los Angeles County. Council members also will learn tonight how much the city is expected to spend to operate the center, which features three different pools, including a 50-meter competition pool and a 25-yard pool specifically for swimming lessons, and a family fun area with slides, play structures and a flow channel area.
