Participating costs $30 to $60, depending on whether one chooses to be a queen in a convertible, ride a truck or float, pedal a bike or tricycle, push a stroller or walk a dog. “When the concept was first introduced to me, I thought, `Huh?”‘ recalled Chuck MacKinnon, office manager at House of Hope, a substance abuse treatment facility for women. “But now it seems to be developing into something that seems to be quite a lot of fun.” In addition to the parade, each participating charity will have a booth with games and activities set up at the RHP campus. MacKinnon said that the general money raised will be split between charities, but they will get to keep the money from their individual activities, which include such things as face-painting or crafts. last_img
