first_imgRoy Hodgson insists Daniel Sturridge still has every chance of making England’s Euro 2016 squad. The Liverpool striker has not played in either of the Three Lions’ warm-up games against Turkey and Australia after picking up a calf problem.Given his injury history and the emergence of Marcus Rashford, who scored minutes into his international debut against the Aussies on Friday, Sturridge’s place on the plane to France looks in real jeopardy. But Hodgson, who has to cut his provisional squad of 26 to 23 by Tuesday, is refusing to rule Sturridge out of contention. The 26-year-old is expected to return to training on Monday and the England boss said: “I know Daniel Sturridge and if he is unfit when we play Russia in Marseille then that might make a difference, but there is no indication at the moment that the seriousness of his injury is such.“There is no suggestion the injury is putting his chances of playing in jeopardy, Daniel Sturridge is a very good quality player.“He is in the mix with everyone else.” 1 Daniel Sturridge last_img
