Join Volunteers While They Clean Up The Homer Spit

Facebook0TwitterEmailPrintFriendly分享Beach clean-up volunteers are continuing to make a difference on the shorelines surrounding the Kenai Peninsula, and there next stop is the Homer Spit. The Homer-based nonprofit is working with local communities to host clean-up events all over the local and state beaches. The Clean-Up the Spit event will take place on Friday, at 2pm, volunteers will meet at the parking lot next to the Mariner’s Memorial. Jodee Lynn, founder of the Alaskan Ocean Cleanup Crew in Homer: “I moved here two years ago and I had the intention when I moved up here to do something for the environment, and I really wanted to do something with the ocean in particular. Since I started the group I’ve had people contact me, and coming out to help clean the beaches. At our last event we got a lot of trash.”last_img
